Two wheeler EV's are relatively new in the market. Looking at the recent developments ans hype surrounding these EV's and also as a concerned resident of our planet (i mean global warming) i decided to buy one of these. I thus purchases a 750W two wheeler EV from Indus electric called YO BIKES.
Its now 1 and a half year and i am a very disappointed customer. The acceleration of this bike is very very bad. Plus as hyped the EV are not very very economical. Hey i m not saying they are not but they dont save a lot either. Maybe a buck or two per 5-6 kilometers.
The range of this bike is another problem. For people living in small cities and towns this may not be much of a problem but the city dwellers please note that this does not give more than 20-30 km for a full charge on a single rider scenario. For a double ride it plunges down to 20-25.
The SPEED is another cause of concern as it does not go faster than 30-35 kms and its taken a very inclined road to reach 40.
If u are going up a incline such as a flyover or elevated road dont expect this bike to above 20 kmph.
At 37000 this is not a particularly good investment as a 100cc bikes are now available at this cost.
At the end of the ride you ll be seeing people over take you at every juncture.
The two wheeler EV is a relatively new industry and highly immature. I would thus ask people considering to buy one to wait for better releases than hurry and buy one.

I had contemplated on buying one early this year for my wife. Thanks for the advice i'm now taking a second look. Might as well go for a Honda Activa or Mahindra Duro if it's this bad
